    TOUR ITINERARY

You'll depart from your Arusha hotel early in the morning or from your Moshi/Kilimanjaro hotel shortly after breakfast. The town of Marangu is a two-hour drive from Arusha.
The order of activities on your tour may vary, but all of our Marangu Village tours typically include:
Kilasya Falls: A leisurely hike through local banana plantations and tranquil clusters of homes leads to these picturesque falls. You'll cross the river using stepping stones and encounter a bit of muddy downhill hiking, but the reward awaits at the end—a majestic waterfall with refreshing cool waters below. The adventurous may even opt for a quick swim.
Local coffee plantation tour: Explore a locally owned and operated coffee plantation to discover the journey of coffee beans from tree to cup. Engage in hands-on activities such as manual grinding and roasting of beans, and indulge in freshly brewed coffee as a delicious reward.
Chaga tunnels tour: Descend into the darkness of the Chaga tunnels, where the Chaga people sought refuge during Maasai raids from the lowlands. Your guide will expertly navigate you through the underground labyrinth while recounting tales of guerrilla warfare and survival strategies employed during those challenging times.
Banana beer tasting: Experience the unique flavor of banana beer by visiting a local vendor specializing in this potent local brew.
Your day tour also includes either a picnic lunch or lunch at a local restaurant.
You'll return to your lodge in the late afternoon (Moshi) or early evening (Arusha).
